Welcome to For Every Body’s new website and our first blog post!

We have successfully made it through our first year as a nonprofit with the goal of bringing an online wellness community to folks of a certain age, or in the language my business partner Steve uses, “geri-optimists.”

What is community, anyway? According to Merriam-Webster’s definition, it’s a unified body of people with common interests.

How do we connect in an online community? We share thoughts, ideas and questions on this website and offer a safe space for conversations and support on our own secure social network (on Mighty Networks). It’s easy to access either site. On Mighty Networks you can share, learn, make new friends and get support in a private space created just for you. Why join an online community? It’s a way to connect with other folks with similar experiences and goals. A way to reach out from the comfort and safety of your own home or as you travel on the adventures you have always dreamed about experiencing. Being part of an online community is one way to feel less alone and isolated. Sometimes it’s hard to get out there in the world in person. And, even if you do get out there in the world, it’s nice sometimes to connect from home.

Some things to look forward to here on our new website:

  • weekly blog posts

  • weekly fitness and health advice column

  • regular news and articles on wellness

  • great recipes and classes

  • wellness workshops with established world-class professionals

  • and a community of folks with much in common

The new site has all kinds of tips and ideas for fitness in unexpected places, as well as a generous collection of articles you will want to read about health and wellness. Stay tuned for the first blog series. It’s all about change—-because we’re all about change and how to manage it, whether it’s change you choose, need to choose or change that has been forced upon you.

I’m looking forward to hearing back from you in comments. If there are topics you’d like to learn more about, ideas you’d like to share or questions for which you need help finding the answers, let us know. We are here to help.

I’m so grateful for everyone reading this! For those who’ve staying fit with me for years and for those just hearing from me for the first time, I’m so looking forward to staying connected to all of you!

Wishing you wellness, Elizabeth and the gang at For Every Body
